So my SO works for a liquor company (but doesn't bring any home and doesn't drink liquor, just the occasional beer.) this Saturday is their big winter party and as he and I were chatting about it and making plans I started getting hot and nervous all over. I knew it was my body telling me YOU CANT HANDLE THIS YET. So I told him I couldn't go but that I hoped he still felt supported. He reported that he did and that was that. Going hiking and staying in on Saturday night. Phew!

The physical reaction launched me into a shame spiral remembering all the brunches with friends I showed up drunk too... Drinking coffee and ordering sparkling water for appearances. Totally mortified and sad that I missed out on those times. God when did I start day drinking?
