Poured it out!

House sitting for my parents while they are on vacation and I came across a bottle of wine when looking for the cat food. Poured it right down the drain! No alcohol in this house

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Good job! I'd do the same thing even though I'm not having cravings now. The good people here who are brave enough and humble enough to share their stories here prove that a craving can jump out of nowhere. You were smart enough to nip that right in the bud!

Let's hope that wasn't a $600 bottle!
But, even if it was, a temptation is better removed.
I don't mind alcohol in my house if I have guests visiting but I do ask that they not leave open containers in the fridge.

Good job on that. Go for it. Your parents would be happy, even if it was a good bottle.

Smart move, I have been foiled while house sitting before- and told I am welcome to anything! Good to just get rid of it without thinking about it, before you even have a chance to contemplate. Great post!
