A little update

have been very busy lately and also very tired and sleepy.
Just now, I had a pizza and I feel like going to bed (it's 7 PM!)
So last week I went to the hypnotherapist which put me back a lot of euro's and frankly? I'm rather dissapointed.
I had to sit in a recliner with eyes closed and I was supposed to go into a very deep state of relaxation.
Not so...
I was told it would feel impossible to open my eyes but I'm sure I could have.
Then I was told to think of a glass of fresh water to drink but...I can't drink still water and my immediate thought was : "can I also have cola?"
Many times I found I was distracted, I found the room too cold and I could not focus at all.

I can only hope some of the things she said will linger in my mind anyway.

Yes yes, still sober and finding it rather easy. Tried a few different brands of alcohol free wine but that's not a succes.

Still very difficult getting to sleep even though I'm incredibly tired.
But once I sleep, I sleep.
Which is nice.

It takes time to adjust iham, glad to hear that you are still sober. I had a very hard time sleeping and concentrating the first couple of weeks too.

The NA drinks can sometimes lead to a slippery slope, please be careful with those.

Ilham, did you express your concerns to the hypnotherapist and ask for advice? It might be helpful.

I don't recommend the alcohol-free wine either. It seems to have a negative effect on many people.

I expect that your concentration and fatigue will ease up soon.

I have no experience with hypnotism. And I won't say it won't or can't help. But if it was successful in treating alcoholism, I suspect I'd see it praised here on SR as a viable method. And I haven't.

Good of you to be trying to find help. Perhaps a regular therapist who deals with substance abuse and addiction could assist you more effectively that a hypnotherapist.

Sorry it wasn't a success Iham I don't think hypnosis works you have to be susceptible & i think it's best working on acceptance logging in to SR more regularly (especially over Christmas)

& I'm not a fan of NA alcohol

Great job staying sober Iham
