Just an anecdote and nothing to do with alcoholism but my 11 year old is struggling at school, lack of concentration, lack of confidence and borderline hyperactive. On the advice on his pediatrician we signed him up to an 8 week workshop for children where they teach meditation, sophrology and relaxation. The change in him is noticeable and he has gone from "no way are you making me do that" to loving it.
I myself am a newcomer to it but I already feel confident that it will be an important part of my tool box.

I meditate and it gets better and better every day. It helps me with anxiety, depression, stress, body aches, insomnia. I meditate every night before I go to sleep, and sometimes during the day.
I love Wayne Dyer's Meditations for Manifesting and anything by Jason Stephenson and The Honest Guys on YouTube. Michael Sealey is awesome too, but it makes me have vivid dreams!

Hey Wolf. I recently discovered guided meditation and it really helped with the insomnia. I still practice it as well and find it is a learned skill that takes a while to really get the most benefit...for me anyway.
In the meantime I find it a great way to relax and unwind my mind at bed time!
