Day 2

Well, I've made it 48 hours....one day at a time right? I've been reading a lot of other posts today and it brings me hope. Tomorrow will be the true test...it's Thursday night football and usually my time to sit, drink a few, and watch the game. Wish me luck!

I had to give up some of my favorite relaxing activities due to triggering. It helped me to physically move around. Maybe you could listen to the game while taking a walk rather than while sitting missing your beer? You'll be so happy on friday morning that you spent the evening sober!

Delta, may I suggest poptails....club soda, orange juice or lemonade, and Italian soda syrup. I love all sports and watch them religiously and have found this really helps. You still feel like you are enjoying a drink, but it is much more refreshing then intoxicating.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice C23. I think I'll get some San Pellegrino (bubbly water) and mix with some fruit juice. It's something I drank when in Germany and I loved it. I'm not going to lie, I thought to myself "Hey, you've gone almost three days, what would a Heiniken and four shooters hurt...as long as I don't drink on Friday." But I noticed something this morning...I could actually smell the fresh air while walking to work. I haven't had that experience in years. I'm going to make it through today! Thanks again everyone...it really is good to talk to someone about this.
