Day 1 and hurting...

Hi guys here I am at day 2.. I'm feeling a little better physically. I cleaned my trashed place, threw all the empty bottles out and even flushed my mouthwash and anything else with alcohol. I went to a meeting last night and I was very anxious, sweaty and dishevelled bit I got through it. A kind member have me a copy of the aa big book which I spent hours reading last night. It's like reading my life story! I'm far from out of the woods, but I didn't drink yesterday and I'm taking it minute by minute right now and hopefully I won't drink today. I DO NOT want to drink today. I'm so done with this cycle. I don't want alcohol to take anything more from me. Also been reading heaps on these forums. You guys give me hope. Thanks for the support. Day 2 I'm ready for you

Just don't pick up a drink today, Sean30. That's all you have to do. I'm glad you went to the meeting. If you're in the U.S. there are really good meetings on Friday nights. I used to go to a Speaker meeting on Friday - they're really good. All you have to do is listen with an open mind. One Friday I went to five meetings in a day. And I saw a few of the same people sitting in at least four of them! Fridays are great AA days.
