Humility not humiliation. And thank you for the birthday replies!
after my post and reading through the replies I felt the door open to you all. I was very frustrated and angry ready for a fight when I started on here. But my ego was busted up a little bit and I needed that. Staying humble for me is a big tool for continued sobriey. It's nice to know that other alcoholics care so much about the ones that are "off the beam " thank you all for letting me smash my ego. Recovery alcoholics a are tolerant and people.
A lot of us start our journey towards sobriety with fragile emotions. It can be easy to get upset and argumentative at times, I am guilty of this.
What I have realized is it never helped me one bit until I realized most of this was me fighting within myself. The people here are helping each other out of goodwill and camaraderie. Being grateful for what we have here and appreciating what everyone has to offer is a blessing.
I am glad your doing well on your journey and I hope you had a great birthday.

I don't think anyone starts sobriety as a happy camper. I know I was angry that I couldn't drink and my life had turned to crap.
My humility started as I found out I was wrong about just about everything
