Still Suffering
Hey Guys,
Just giving an update, haven't been on in about 3 months.
I am still sober since June, but still am suffering severe brain fog in my recovery.
Sometimes I find it very hard to stay sober for over 5 months when you are still paying for what you did in the past.
I know according to most timelines that I should be feeling better soon but everyone is different and I fear that I may never make a full recovery.
Just food for thought.

Why don't you spend some more time on this site? The positive attitudes and practical solutions to life's problems have been very beneficial to me and my sobriety. I really think it's important to connect with others who understand the journey to a healthy life after addiction.
At about six months I really started to feel like I was turning a corner. The physical part of quitting became less of an issue and the thoughts of drinking died down so much around that time. It's common to have up and down days, everyone has them. Hang in!

Congratulations on over 5 months, that is amazing! I think the biggest thing is to keep working on your recovery. As you know, everyone recovers on a different timeline so who knows what the future will bring. Sometimes I get frustrated because certain things haven't changed since I got sober, but I can always keep working on those things. The only way that I KNOW things will get worse is if I act on the impulse to pick up a drink.

Yes,
I went to a GP and had all blood work done.
I also went to a neurologist and had an MRI of my Brain and cervical Spine, as well as an EEG and EKG.
All is well on the health front, the last time i went to the doctor he says he thinks i drank so much that i threw off my biochemistry and it takes time for the comatose brain cells to recover after quitting.
