1 Week Today.
Welcome Jimmy
It was certainly normal for me.
I dunno about you , but I drank for years - it took a little time for my mind and body to recuperate - but don't lose heart - it will happen

I felt brick wall tired for the first 2-3 weeks, I was going to bed by 8.30 pm every night but I was waking up feeling better than I used to hungover, so I stuck with it. Now 5 weeks in, I am in a more normal pattern of going to bed nearer 10pm and sleeping til 6.30am, I LOVE MY SLEEP!!! It feels so wonderful compared to the harrowing nights of being passed out due to excess alcohol.
Stick with it, you're very soon going to feel a whole heap of benefits : ))))

And don't worry about not being motivated, all I worried about was not drinking alcohol, I ate comfort foods, drank tea, hot chocolate, slept and just mooched about. Anything apart from drinking is a success, don't put any other pressure on yourself, all you need to do is get through the day : )))
Hi Jimmy! It's very normal to have a rough time the first week or so. Your body is coming back online and going through a lot of changes. Take it easy for a bit and just stay focused on staying sober. Trust me, it does start to get easier. You're doing great so keep up the hard work and have a plan in place to make sure you keep doing awesome!
If you continue to put good wholesome things in your body your body will reward you. Bound to have lack of motivation days...that's a hard one to get past. Keep pushing forward in the best direction. You can do this! You can overcome...
Great job on one week, Jimmy.
I was plagued with fatigue and brain-fog for quite some time. It eventually went away but it was a very gradual process.
Hang in; it will get much better, I promise.

Jimmy - good to meet you.
Normal for me too. I was exhausted from all that I'd put my body through. I had a hard time with sleep for a while, too. It's very common. Many things that bothered me in the early days disappeared entirely. I was quite groggy & disoriented - but it all got better.

Jimmy! One week is monumental buddy. And yes it's normal to feel rough as your body and mind is wondering what the heck is going on. Many wise people on here have said you didn't get to where your at overnight and you won't get where you want to go overnight either. You are on the right path. I am not giving medical advise but many have told me to sleep and take in the water as much as possible. Hang in there man.
