First Meeting tonight
Little nervous. Never been before. Are they going to ask me to speak? Part of me is terrified of that, the other part of me wants to bare my soul because of the amount of loneliness I feel.

Good for you for going to a meeting. You never have to speak. If anyone asks you to you can just say it's your first meeting and you'd just like to listen. No one will put any pressure on you.
I'm assuming maybe you mean AA?? No, you never have to talk if you don't care to - or share freely!
There are no rules in AA, only suggestions on what others have done to stay sober - sharing their experience , strength and hope with each other. As on SR there is a kinship of suffering that brings us together and we learn from each other how to escape the bondage of alcohol.
Good for you on going and posting! Great starts, both!!!
keep coming back Sindaine!

Thank you for deciding to go to an AA meeting!
Here is a little general information about AA:
Frequently Asked Questions | Newcomers | About AA | Alcoholics Anonymous (Great Britain) Ltd
Most meetings ask if there is anyone new present, and you may identify yourself by your first name. Depending on the format of the meeting, you may have an opportunity to speak if you want.

I've been to five or six meetings so far and haven't spoken at any of them. In fact i haven't spoken to anyone either. Just go in right before the meeting starts and leave as soon as it's over.
People are very cool.If someone does ask you to speak you can just say Pass.
Here is a great link about what to expect.

Say a little prayer before hand and just rembrr that everyone in there has been exactly where you are before. They are there to help, not judge. Keep an open mind. What you are doing and asking for help takes a lot of strength. Congrats!
