I got offered a job interview in Dublin today. I'm not sure if I can make it as its such short notice. But still, I'm feeling quite chuffed

Home from work. Kids eerily quiet at the moment and didn't turn on TV. Something's brewing.

Food section in today's paper, which I usually look forward to, is all about Oktoberfest. Sigh. Surely some Germans don't drink beer.

No. In Germany, beer is like bread. My Dad was stunned when we were leaving the country and found out about breakfast beer. We loved it!

That's great, tetra! Even if you don't go for the interview it's nice to know that your resume and references made a positive impression.
I'm glad the puppy is home safely.
I got home early from work and really didn't know what to do with myself. I went to the library and got 2 movies. Watched judge judy. Had dinner. I guess I'll watch a movie now. I usually don't get home before 6pm. It feels weird. Heaven forbid I should just rest.

Tetra, you can ask them for the interview on YOUR time. I've never heard of being offered an interview right at this instant. Usually it is an agreed upon time by both parties involved. Within reason of course. Good luck! I've gone to interviews where they'll fly you in and put you up in a hotel. Obviously not the same type of work, but make a statement. Tell them you can make it Friday at 1PM or whatever suits you. If they balk, their loss.

Well, I STILL have a half pile - can there be such thing as a half pile? - of dirt left. It got dark so I put away my tools and swept up. Going to veg for a bit. Then either clean up in the kitchen or work on the garage inventory.

And Trach - I know what the judge is. If I was allowed to and had the spare play money, I'd get me one. Well if I had the money I would be allowed.

My guy friend is about to buy a Judge. He wants it for shooting at the red squirrels up at his cabin. Before anyone becomes outraged, those little buggers can be extremely destructive if they can find a way into a building that is only occupied intermittently, and especially a place that's under renovation, as his place is. He uses a .410 regular shotgun now, but a judge would be "handier." So to speak.

Tetra - that is great about the interview! Yes - see if you can get them to agree on an interview time that works for you. Can't hurt to ask.

Tinker was lucky to have people like you and Mrs. Wolfie to care for her. I was kind of hoping she'd be your Dotty dog but I certainly can understand how happy the girl was to get her back. My teenaged niece is crazy about their Yorkshire.

That is such a great storybook ending. All too often pets do not get back home safely. I bet the dog and family will never forget Mr. and Mrs. SW for keeping Doty/Tinker in a safe, loving environment.

Found the strangest looking grapes in the store last night. They're called Moon Drops.

Am popping them like candy. Probably -- er, definitely -- a better idea than the British Kit Kats (see two threads ago). Highly recommended.
