Hi, I have just joined this site today and am hoping that it can help me stay sobar. I have had 4 home detoxes now and this time I did it myself and am now on my 6th day of no alcohol so have been through the worst. Each time i have tried to stat sobar, i have relapsed pretty quickly but it is really srarting to affect my health now and my relationships.

Welcome Big well done for being on day 6.
I only began posting yesterday and already I feel it's helping me to get involved in some discussions rather than just 'lurking' these forums. Mind over matter.
Just think, tomorrow will be your first week of sobriety crossed off

I already have an addiction worker and see a psychologist and am also taking thiamine and vitiman b so everything is in place but its just the willpower to keep away from the first drink I need to get. I always think i can have just a couple which always ends up in month long binges where i dont eat, wash, get into trouble and make more enemies. Then the self loathing and physical effects are horrific

Thank you to everyone. I have tried AA in the past and found it helpful but then fell away from it. I am hoping that this website will help me when I am struggling. I really need to stop before I am left with nothing and no one or dead
Welcome to SR, Jeremy1, to SR. Congratulations on 6 sober days.
So many of us have fallen into the moderation/"I can have just a couple" trap.
Someone said the other day, "The first is the worst". So true.
Glad you found us.

Congrats on Day 6 Jeremy
Welcome on to SR - I found it's helpful to stay away from Person - Places & Things . I know that seems to be the hardest part for many . Stay strong - work a plan - use tools
