30 days smoke free

and the entire day I am thinking darn I want a cigarette. This is fantastic because I have learned to substitute want for need. Playing the tape through and getting some hard candy. Focusing on my breathing. Its all mental. Damn you nicodemon....

Good for you! Quitting smoking was one of the best and most liberating decisions I made on my own behalf. I know it is still a challenge, but clearly you are making good choices, and you are changing how you think about it. One of the thoughts that kept me going was that I did not want have to go through those early weeks again, and I certainly would if I smoked again. Look at it this way: You're not quitting smoking; you have become a non-smoker!

Congrats on a month letitgo!

The nicotine section of the SR was really helpful for me.

It's brutal but when you get to the other side it's not so bad!

Well done! I am now about a year smoke free and every day I feel so grateful. Here in the UK only 18 percent of the population smoke - it looks more because so many people smoke outside buildings. But by choosing not to smoke, you will join the vast majority of people who enjoy life with cigarettes and don't consider having one ever, even when celebrating or feeling sad.

Think how nice it will be to give up an unsociable habit which you're not really enjoying.

Congratulations! That is wonderful and I bet you feel really great.
I agree with endless patience, it has become really unsociable to smoke. It used to be that you could find a fellow smoker anywhere, but now it isn't so easy. At a party or dinner if you want to step outside, there are few people to come with you.
I quit two days ago. If I have to choose between a cigarette or a drink I'll choose the cigarette, but I am hoping to stick with it.

letitgo keep at it, then you can be a pain-in-the-a reformed smoker like me. I honestly cannot bear the smell of nicotine these days. 30 days means you really have survived the worst of it.
