900 Days :)
Congrats on 900 days WeHav! Your story is inspiring!
My favorite thing about being on the recovery journey is waking up in the morning feeling good, no guilt, no dread....only waking up to a beautiful new day!

Congratulations my friend! .... We've been hanging out a while now , you and me. And since you asked, I will tell you my favorite thing about being 900+ days sober is not having to remember what I said or did the day before. It's the most freeing feeling in the world . Good or bad, my thoughts, words, and deeds are my own... and I remember all of them. My 2nd favorite thing is finding my joy again. 3rd favorite thing.... My health. I'm not sure a person my age is suppose to feel this good . ........ My message to newcomers .... Solid sobriety and lasting recovery is completely possible if you want it badly enough.
I just joined SoberRecovery today - just in time to see your post, WeHav. You made my day. I hadn't been counting my number of days, but it turns out I just crossed the 900-day mark too - my sobriety date is 2/17/2013. I struggled for 30 years to build that much sober-time. A 30-year drinking habit becomes deeply ingrained, and many people considered me to me a hopeless case. But I proved them wrong. And there's no doubt that anyone else here who is still struggling to stay away from their next drink can do it too. I agree, WeHav - this is freedom. It's a freedom I had given up on, but I have it back. God it feels good.

Passerbydave, super! Thank you for sharing!
Ldt, love you buddy. You are a testament that we can find the best true friendships in recovery too!
New page, yes! It's lovely to greet the new day with clarity.
Lee, hola!! Great to see you!
Keep it coming, it's so great to see people's good news!

P.s. More amazing gifts of recovery: I remember going to an aa meeting a long time ago, and hearing those promises. It's like they were talking to me, all the things I felt but those promises seemed so unattainable.
"We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us..."
Darned if that little pipe dream didn't become a reality. Things that used to make me run screaming for a drink now just beg for a solution, which can be thought through with little fuss or drama.

Wehav I have had the pleasure and honour of travelling beside you in our March 2013 class, I'm so very proud of you for your achievements and the grace with which you have reached them. It's a joy to call you my friend.
Congrats on your 900!
Congrats on your 900!
Marcher, Jeni, it's been a pleasure being on this journey with you two! Thank you!!
Ooh, got another one... So today I've been sent to another location, basically to bail out a coworker. He has expressed no thanks on this, by the way... And did I mention he's my only coworker I dislike?
That used to be a recipe for a drink... Resentment.
Identify it, work through it, move the heck on.
Have a great day everybody!!
