Saturday Day 6

Howdy. How's everyone's Saturday going?

Mine has been pretty good. I woke a little later than I wanted but slept very good again. Didn't make it to the gym but I made breakfast (bacon, eggs and French toast) for the wife and kids 😀

The wife owns her own biz so she had to go in to the office to work for a couple hours.
I chilled at the house while the children napped. When they got up I had a bit of a trigger. I always want to get them out of the house so in the past I would load them both up (both my kids are under 5 so it's a job to corral those little rug-rats. Lol

Anyway, in the past I would stop by the gas station and pick up a sixer of tall boys and pound a couple in the parking lot of the park my kids like. Likewise when we would leave. Then a couple more a few blocks from the house. So yeah..Id drive after drinking approx 5 beers within 2 hours with my 2 beautiful healthy kids in the backseat. Un-effing-believable!!!! That's so terrible, I know.

Today tho, I got a few gallons of gas, a red bull and a can of chew(my next vice to tackle once I whip this alcohol parasite) :-)
Sorry to be so long winded but I was able to change my behavior today. And that's a step in The right direction.
I hope y'all are staying strong and enjoying your Saturday.

Lots of love SR!

That's a big accomplishment Ray. Keep it going. It's not easy, but so worth it.

Way to go, Ray. Realizing that I was often rocking a buzz while taking care of my little kids was one of the last straws for me. I don't want them ever to see me drunk and I don't want to mess them up with my bad example!

Great stuff Ray.

I used to spend so much time worrying about whether I was in a fit state to drive with or without my kids in the car. Constantly stressed when driving that I would be stopped by the police and fail a breath test.

Thankfully since I got sober its no longer an issue. That alone makes sobriety worth it but there are so many other benefits.

Your doing the right thing my friend
