Thank you for posting this! It was a really helpful analogy to finally understand all the components that alcoholism works with. Makes me sad to think how I have irreparably changed my brain.

Oh yeah. You need to accept it Serenidad. Why waste all that energy wondering why. Bottom line it is a disease because it is and you may not know why it picked you. The solution to that would be to accept the fact that you can't control your drinking "because your an alcoholic" and move on with your life. Focus your energy on staying sober rather than why are you like this in the first place.
