Well, I was looking over the forums for a while and thought I'd Join in the fun! I've been drinking off and on for the past 15 year's, from casually drinking a beer with dinner to casually drinking over 30 throughout the day. Periods of sobriety that lasted months were scattered over the year's, but I've always came back to alcohol. I've cut it down over the last year but now whenever I do drink I'll go and go. Sunday I ended up having an excess amount again and doing other dumb things but not getting caught. I haven't hit rock bottom yet, but I think I would like to avoid that. So I'm going to be making an effort to abstain from alcohol and see how far I can go. Thanks for reading.
Welcome to SR, WilliamBrasky. There is a ton of great wisdom and support to be found here.
I highly suggest joining and contributing to the Class of June 2015 thread found on this same forum. It's a great way to learn from and help others in early recovery.

Welcome to SR!
I hit rock bottom only to find it was a false floor. The true rock bottom is death. Just have to ask yourself how low are you willing to go before enough is enough. I wish I had made the choice you made before I lost my job, lost my family, lost all my money. I ignored all the signs.
Do you believe you have a drinking problem? If so, that's awesome. Now you can address it.
Look forward to following ya!

I'm excited to start up this journey and this weekend will be a good test. I'm planning on carrying water/tea around me as much as possible so that I'll have something to keep my hands busy. Thanks for the messages.
