I think I have found something that works for me

I was prescribed gabapentin (Neurontin) which is used for several different conditions like seizures, pain from shingles. It also works to mitigate anxiety. I have been on it since Wednesday and have had no interest in drinking. My anxiety has really gone down a lot. I am not yet on the full therapeutic dosage as you have to build up slowly, but I must say this is a god send for me.

Thanks! The psychiatrist was a nice woman. She does not do the therapy part however. She just prescribes the meds. I do like my counselor tho.

Anxiety;; really ?!?!? That is definitely something I'm bringing up w\ my doctor Friday.. Seizures as well;; seems like a possible godsend for me as well. Wish you continued success.
