Hopefully this too shall pass. The words that finally worked for me was “KEEP COMING!”
When I got SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED I HEARED THEM.

BE WELL

Time for a new plan, I could be entering into a similar situation as you but instead I had a plan for the weekend. One which involves no drinking.

Stripped sanded and primed my jeep hood yesterday, base and clear coat today. Later a hike in the state park. Things like this never happened when I used to drink, the whole weekend was dedicated to either drinking or hangover or some combination of both.

Free yourself from the madness, you will feel stronger and lose the sense of regret.

Sorry to hear that nofear. What specifically do you think you need to change or add to your plan? You still have a couple days left of the long weekend to make some positive changes.

Glad you made it back in, nofearnobeer. Hope you'll join us in the Class of May 2015. Lots of great support and wisdom in there from folks just like you who are not drinking today.

And welcome to SR, Shell31! Just noticed you're at post #1. Hope you post often and looking forward to getting to know you better.

That's strange.

It was listening to my AV's lies that always got me.

Welcome back.

You can do this!

Try using the "play the tape through" tool next time...

Fast forward to what usually happens when you drink those Bud Lights. Spare no detail

We tend to romanticize the drink and the whole drinking experience. But the reality for those of us who are addicted isn't a nice one, is it?

It is a powerful tool if you commit to using it. Be brutal.

A little late , but think I'll play the tape next time... Sorry , just looking at my older posts trying to see what went wrong , and this "tape" comment kind of stuck out..

I agree with Soberpotamus. I see myself relaxing down the beach, a few cold beers, chilled wine, prawns, salad, good company salt, sand and sea hmmm how civilised then lo and behold I'm a barbarian drowning in either vodka or the old Pacific Ocean. The Great Pretender. Me 3 weeks today and I guess in the early days easy to con ourselves with the "romantic" lie. It's a dead set con.

Hi NoFear, I am confused, you recently posted you had 15 days and had been in bed for a few days. In this OP you mention Memorial Day got you, which was months ago? Either way, wish you well and hope you feel better.
