First real test tonight

I live in Vegas and as we all know tonight was the fight of century. I ended up going to a friends house with the wife and kids and enjoyed some really good food and some really great soda. My wife drank and I even made the drinks for her. I didn't mind it at all. It was a bit weird in the beginning when I was asked if I wanted a beer...then I got asked hey are you drinking Jack Daniels? I just said oh my wife can drink, but I'd the DD for the night. I was never tempted except for the very first few minutes. Great test for me tonight and I'm glad I was able to pass. My wife was/is very proud of me. I'm proud of myself. I thought about the effects of drinking...get stupid, loud, drive drunk, hungover etc. Drinking poison basically! It feels good to be sober 23 days sober!!!!!!

Thinking the drink through ,
1 hr , 2 hrs , 6 hrs , 12 hrs , 1 day, 1 week , 1 month , 1 year , 10 years is a good thing to do i recon ..
10 years might seem extreme but even at only 3 years into my new sober life the differences to my finances and relationships is huge .

keep on

Well done Getright. Passing a test like that is important as it means we don't have to live like monks in cloisters but can still have an enjoyable social life.

(Shame about the fight though...)

No kidding! I had a great time and wasn't nervous driving home since I was sober!

Drove through some of the mayhem near the MGM and it's pretty interesting watching a bunch a drunk people when I use to be one of them.

Glad I didn't spend a dime on that fight!

Congratulations on 23 days Getright.

Live in UK so had to get up at 3.45am for the fight. It wasn't a bad fight, just not a great one.

Tired now

Very proud of you getright! We get a bit stronger every time we make it through one of those challenges. There is life after alcohol.
