Day One
I have really not been committed to staying sober and I have to make that my number one priority in life. Right now I'm just focused on getting through the work day and making it home sober.
Congrats on your decision and hope your day is going as well as can be Thanos. Don't be afraid to ask for help if things get too bad. Drink lots of water and try and get some rest tonight if you can.
Thanos, every single person who has gotten and stayed sober began with a Day 1. You are right where you are supposed to be, doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing.
Know that.
Good luck. I am glad that you are here with us.

Thanks Wolf! Well, my plan is to use rational recovery methods (AVRT) and pay attention to HALT, play the tape forward when I find myself walking on autopilot towards the bar ... And to develop some new healthy habits to replace the old self-destructive ones. I tried meditation a while back and it seemed to be very helpful so I'll give that another go. Going to start exercising. My wife is supportive and I have you guys as well. Really there's no excuse for me to fall off the wagon, I have a much luckier situation than so many others. For the first few days I am just going to post and read on here, and eat a lot and drink lots of water, take some B vitamins and try not to think negatively.

Thanks Thomas, I appreciate that. I am feeling so tired ... Mouth still has funky taste. Can't seem to drink enough water (I think I drank five liters of water already). And I have some weird abdominal discomfort. But nothing serious thank goodness. Hoping I can get some quality sleep tonight and onwards to tomorrow!
