Finally! My first AA meeting!
I did it! I know going to the meeting doesn't sound like a big success but that was really hard for me to do! The meeting was in psychology hospital and was a small group of people (7_8).I was so nervous .I introduced myself and asked if I can just listen ! I'm still not sure if I want to come back or try other meetings.
This was enough for today.

is that true?
If the group/chairperson is doing things properly, you should definitely not be forced to share. You're perfectly free to say that you'd just like to listen. REGARDLESS of how many meetings you've attended and how long you've been sober.
The first meeting is definitely the hardest. It's much easier from then on. Congrats on your first meeting. Keep coming back. This thing works.

Congrats! That's real courage right there!
It was suggested to me to just listen for about a month. That took some stress off! It's really good to chat people up before and after the meeting. Get to know some folks.
If you do go back I would suggest trying different meetings. Although the format is the same the group dynamics can be different. It also allows you to meet more potential sponsors.

New people come to my homegroup meeting all the time and we never make them talk. The only time they might have to say something is when we go around the room to introduce ourselves.
Some say "GracieLou, Alcoholic" Some say. "Hi, I am GracieLou and I am alcoholic", some just say "GracieLou".
Other than that, there is no talk ever forced on anyone that I have seen. The group make ask if there are new people but you do not have to speak up if you don't want to or don't feel comfortable.
You can just sit and listen.

Congratulations for going.
My feelings if one is new to the fellowship you may only say your first name or your name and “I’ll just listen.”
For me it took a lot of listening to learn and understand what’s happening.
BE WELL
