I went to Yosemite....

For the best day trip ever. Bought a bike rack and took my girlfriend. It was such a productive day and that of connectiveness with nature and love.

I wish I could post Pics. I would not have done this nearly 6 months ago when I put down the very thing that held me back from life's simple wonders..its nice to be here and now with you...thank you all and for those who want it he get on the SR bus..

I know what you are thinking and like so many before me, yes it can be done..

sounds like a cool day trip. Why did you have to buy a bike rack to take your girl?
Didn't she want to ride inside?

In the past I would go once a year. IMO the spring is the best time (at least in the valley). The snow thaw feeds the waterfalls. It's spectacular. More good things await you I'm sure. Interesting how many of us don't appreciate how good it can get till we're actually sober for a while.

Spring yea! It's unfortunate the water shortage in CA brings some "missing" falls now...can you believe some of the falls are not, er,.. well "falling". Sad. But sober and taking in the beauty was worth every second even tho..

Nice. I'd like to experience Yosemite clean and sober. My Yosemite story involved meeting a stranger who fed me peyote. It was magical and then got scary. It got dark and I couldn't find my tent due to the undulating electric mandala blocking my vision. I eventually found a drunk guy passed out next to a dwindling campfire. I spent the rest of the night stealing firewood from neighboring campsites to keep his fire going so we wouldn't freeze to death. It got frosty near sunrise and I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. He was out cold. At first light I got my bearings and found my tent. My ride ditched me and I had to hitchhike out of there (which almost got me arrested for vagrancy). That was a long, lost summer. I didn't get home for another month, and that required some begging and some serious risks. Just one more story to remind myself how lucky I am and how grateful I am to be alive.

So yes, next time I think I'll drive my car, and if anyone offers me peyote or liquor I think I'll decline.

jealous here... I was just mentioning the pacific crest a couple days ago to someone...

I've been going to Sequoya for the past many years annually. Missed it recently due to circumstances I wish I could have controlled.
One thing on my list is spend a week or so in the golden trout wilderness area hiking and fishing. But I taking the hike from the Kern River up to Yosemite would be definitely something to do - in the summer of course.
Time to buy another lottery ticket...

SOBER LIVING RULES!
