For me, the first few days of being sober were super weird- almost like I didn't deserve to feel this good. No thick head, no embarrassing e mails from the night before...I could work far more effectively. When I focussed on the positive changes, I just wanted to feel that good again the next day. We get used to the effects of heavy drinking, and tend to accept them as the norm. WRONG! Feeling good is so much better. Good luck in your quest- it really is worth it.

I'm joining the chorus here, Thomas. Sobriety and recovery throw enough tests at us without us adding to them. You really need to get the alcohol out of the house for your own sake.

Dump the booze Thomas there is no need for it at all even for whatever "test" you think you need to take.

If there is booze in my house, sooner or later I drink it.

Glad you're back on board Jeff--I agree with others you should, at least
until you are more solid in recovery, get the booze out of the house
