For me, the first few days of being sober were super weird- almost like I didn't deserve to feel this good. No thick head, no embarrassing e mails from the night before...I could work far more effectively. When I focussed on the positive changes, I just wanted to feel that good again the next day. We get used to the effects of heavy drinking, and tend to accept them as the norm. WRONG! Feeling good is so much better. Good luck in your quest- it really is worth it.
Thanks, I have weird philosophy, I like having some booze in the house because it tests my willpower. I used to be hooked on Ambien, and I had to stop taking it because I became dependent on it. I still have 5 ambien tablets in the medicine cabinet, but I won't touch them. They are there to test my strength. so for what its worth....
