Starting to live
Well for the past few days I have just been watching life go by. It's like I am watching a movie. And it's a boring one...lol. Yesterday morning I went outside and everything was so bright. Its like I could see better, everything was so clear! The blooms were more colorful. I could see the little leaves sprouting on the trees. The grass was so green and I could see every blade of grass! I wonder if that means the "fog" is lifting?
I haven't been anywhere since I quit drinking. My poor dog, Sadie, hasn't been for a walk. So we got in the car and went to the park. It took us over an hour to walk 2 miles. I was just amazed by all the colors, listening to the birds and really enjoying life and living it!!!
When we got home I went into the bathroom. I saw a reflection of myself in the mirror. I did a double take. My face was a red, it looked like I had been drinking. I don't know when it happened but sometime in the past couple of weeks my redness in my face went away...yay! But I didn't even notice it until now. Now I have a sunburn!!!!
Good morning Day 15

How about a healthy glow about urself.
Often we see changes in the faces that
show up at meetings, watching the transformation
happen as they remain sober each day.
It's pretty awesome and even spiritual to
witness these transformations ourselves,
especially when folks would comment the
same thing to us in the beginning.
Im glad you took your pet for a walk.
We learn so much from our beloved
pets about that unconditional love
they have for us. They luv us no matter
what and thus in return we luv them
no matter what too.
What an awesome friend to have with
you as they share your recovery journey
with you each day.
Keep up the good work one day at a
time, listening, learning, absorbing,
and applying.

Experiences like this really revealed to me the extent to which my drinking must have affected my nervous system over the years.
