Hello
Hello
Hello SR. I am an alcoholic and ready to stop the madness!
Today is my day 1 and as evening comes around, it is very tough. I will make it through today because my daughter (and me) deserve a better life.
I have been lurking around the threads daily for weeks. I have been reading all of your posts and seeing all of the successes, struggles, and support. It's this community that helped me find the courage to act on my issue. So thank you for the encouragement I've already felt, I look forward to being a member here at SR.

Hi Komplex, and welcome! I'm brand new here and on day 1 as well. The evening is the hardest for me too. I'm going to try to build some new routines - evening AA meetings, tea, nightly evening walk. Maybe you could plan something enjoyable and booze free for tonight?
Well done on coming here and starting a sober life!

I'm tearing up at the quick responses! Thank you so much for welcoming me! I'm in bed, enjoying my little ones snuggles, and fighting off the anxiety.
Thursdayborn - we can share today as day one.
It's interesting to me the amount of comfort I'm finding knowing that you are all just a tap away!

Tap away my friend tap away! SR has been a huge part of my sober journey and I felt equally at ease and grateful for the kind folks here. Early days are tricky so stay close and post often. Welcome!

Greetings. Do whatever you can to make it through the night. Even if you get little sleep you'll still feel better than if you drink. I'm on day 6 and on my planned last night of drinking I almost caved (you know, what's ONE MORE night going to hurt). I managed to stick it out though and felt SO GOOD compared to how I would have otherwise. It's worth it.
It's great to have you with us Komplex.
I drank all my life & never thought a forum could possibly help - but here I am 7+ years later, still checking in every day. I'm not alone, and that means everything. The anxiety will ease up and you'll begin to feel much better soon. Be proud of yourself for making the decision to change your life.
