Can Someone Tell me how to live
Can Someone Tell me how to live
A few week back a young man - Harris Wittels died from what certainly was a heroin overdose. Wittels was a brilliant 30 year old comedian and integral part of the the show Parks and Rec - as well as a producer.
Harris did an interview with Pete Holmes via podcast and discussed his struggle with addiction at length a few months prior to his death.
One of the first things I learned from sober friends is listen to the guy who relapses. Why did it happen, what were the warning signs. What can WE learn from them.......
Harris was an engaging, humorous guy. He is starkly honest and has some unique experiences captured on this podcast including his progression from pills to heroin use, losing love due to his addiction(s) and the help he sought to overcome them. He ultimately lost the battle like so many others.
I believe this recorded archive is more than just simple, anecdotal celebrity untimely death. It may save someones life here or elsewhere.
"Can someone tell me how to live?" is a question Harris asks in dialogue with his friend Pete. A guy who it would appear had his "life working" proves again that addiction does not discriminate.
