1st night sober
Good stuff Pitsea and I forgot to mention it but remember that your body is used to passing out, not to go to sleep in a natural way.
You have been drinking for 5 years Miggy so your body will have to relearn how to go to sleep normally.
You should feel better in a few days and that's where it gets dangerous. You ll feel better and your addictive voice (we call it AV here, you know that little voice in your head which always suggest drinking) will start telling you that now that you are ok, you could have just one or two or drink only on the week ends only or God know what.
Hang in there, it gets easier and watch out for the darn AV.

Welcome to SR Miggy, and you Pitsea
I'm 50 or so days sober and have only recently started to sleep normally - I still have sleepless.or nearly sleepless nights Everything else much better but of course you lose the numbing effect that booze gives you, which is obviously a good thing in the long term but disconcerting at first.
You'll find lots of help here

A little update guys. I slept like a baby last night but I woke up so dang groggy. its almost 10:30 AM and I still feel like I'm in a haze. I made a Dr. Appointment for tomorrow because I read about the withdrawals and that scared the crap out of me. I just dont want the doctors to prescribe anything because I feel like I'll go back to drinking.
