money.

So i'm on day 18 and have worked out my finances for the month. Not drinking, not spending money on hangover food and not going out to clubs has saved me an astonishing 900 EUROS this month!!!
I'm gobsmacked. That's enough to pay off my summer holiday in cash! WOOHOO xx

Awesome stuff ! I went to dinner and a Broadway show last night. Otw home I was calculating how much I wold have spent on wine at dinner and cocktails at the ridiculously overpriced theatre bar, at minimum with tips @ $65.00! Added bonus, I actually remember Les Miserables this morning, it was amazing!

I know!! I also have way more money!! Crazy how it all adds up. Between bars, drinking at home, ordering in cuz I felt too crappy to get off my ass to cook, I was spending a ridiculous amount of money. I have been doing some cloths and jewelry shopping to reward myself for staying quit. Also because I feel better, I want to look better.

Money really helped me with my plan to stop drinking too. I've always been good with my money but being an alcoholic I worked alcohol money into my budget. At day 20 now and I now have it worked out of my budget. Putting $300/month extra into my 401k plan and even was able to budget for a much needed mini vaca next weekend!

Next step....quitting smoking and I'll have even more money

Awesome! Could you loan me E100?
You know sometimes looking back I wonder where I found the money to drink and smoke seriously.

Hi messy, when I quit I figured I saved around 800euros per month by the time I had added it all up. So I got a big jar and every week I put 100 euros in it and put 100 in a separate bank account. I have 10 weeks in the jar now. The bank account is to be all grown up and responsible with. The jar is to squander on whatever my wife and I decide. She has wanted to visit the U.S. for a long time so by around may or June the booze will have bought that trip for us. Thanks AV, that ones on you.

Fabulous! Do something fun with that money (at least part of it), for sure! You deserve it.
