Sobriety is cool - interesting things I notice

-Noticing music sounds better to me now(?) I appreciate it more.
-My Patience level is coming back !(slowly).
-I "have time" to read at night again.
-I dont "cringe" (or plain get pissed off-) when an event "interrupts" in the evening -(My former drinking time)
-I have more money in my wallet!
- If my house were on fire Id now grab the dog - not the beer first - then get out!!!!!!
Im only 12 days into this............cant wait to share more!

Hi living now, day 16 here (though I racked up a decent bit of sober time in the latter half of last year).

Good shout, have to say I agree with them! Though a lot of painful realities to face upto too on the other hand, I suppose they were painful when drunk too also, maybe even more so (?)

Here's to alcohol-free us

If my house was on fire, I'd grab my two Siamese boys, but I don't think that would work out too well.

I'm really glad you're feeling good and doing well.

Yes, livingnow. The benefits of becoming sober are immediate. A matter of a few days and you feel like a whole new person.

The benefits of recovery however, takes a little more time.

Congrats on your 12 Day's. I'am on Day 4 myself and loving it already!

I have noticed that I show signs of the person I used to be. It feels great. I am not hiding from what I am feeling. I am embracing it. I was controled by alcohol. I see that now. I am too strong of a person to be drugged through life by alcohol. I will continue to grow.

I have noticed the money in my pocket. I worked out I was spending nearly £50 a week on booze. These funds will come in useful for a nice holiday in the summer for my family, at least there will be some good of the money not just pissed away down the toilet.

Lancashire saving that money is an excellent idea! As soon as I get paid each week I put $100 (what used to be booze/tobacco money) into a separate account. It's important to do it straight away so you don't get used to having the extra money. Since March 2013 I've saved (and spent some of) almost $A10,000.

You can do it too.
