Day 4

Hi everyone,

Day 4 is here and still feeling mostly positive. I can't believe how much it is helping me to write on here and to see your support and advice each day.

I especially like to hear that its ok to lie around sleeping and reading for the early days. I start to beat myself up about being lazy. I guess my energy will return in a week or two.

I must confess I've been a bit grumpy today and quick to find fault with others but the thinking about drinking has eased off again now that I know about the AV!

Luckily I live alone and am able to do much as I please in these early days. I am very fortunate as I know some of you are trying to do this while still having to work and look after families.

Anyway, thanks everyone and stay strong . We can do this

I was exhausted in the early days leb. We've beaten ourselves up badly and we need time to recover. You're doing great on Day 4.

Good for you on day 4! I was tired a lot in the beginning and didn't push myself to do much that I didn't absolutely need to do. It gets better as time passes.

Hi leb - I'm on day 4 too, and also live alone. Use it to your advantage, but be careful. I have slipped many times in the past, often rationalising that I could go home and drink alone and nobody need be hurt or get upset by this - In short, I have no accountability in my home apart from myself.

Great going on 4 days, the alcohol has now left our systems!

I am right there with you guys on day 4 - I commend you both being alone, for whatever reason I think it would be a lot harder... I find work and family keep me busy then I go to bed before I know it it'll be day 5. Way to go leb and topend!!!

Great job, leb! And yes--sleepsleepsleep! I was exhausted the first month in particular.Still have patches of exhaustion, and put myself to bed earlier when I do, or catch a cat nap in my office
