Having a hard time
Having a hard time
Hi everyone;
I'm not doing very well right now. My fiance is in town (first time I've seen her in years, w're in an LDR
And... I've been off the wagon for a little while now.
Crap.
I need to stop

I need to stop
I needed to stop, too. It's good that you realize you do, too.
The only way to stop is to just stop. Different people use different methods. Many of us can, and do, get sober.
I had to quit for myself. The girlfriend was gone, all my sober friends were gone it was just me and my enemy alcohol left.
Things had to change. I started putting the effort I put into drinking and recovering to stopping completely.
It took me many attempts, but thanks to my Higher Power I am four years sober today after being drunk for thirty.
You'll find a lot of support here. Make use of it, and go to any means necessary to quit.
You can do it.
Best to you.

walkingecho, you can do this. Just decide that you will not drink tonight and follow through. Don't cave in to any creeping urges stay focused and let them pass.
It might be tough at first but you can do it!

Hi.
Reading posts and suggestions in this site is certainly helpful for an alcoholic determined to stop drinking. I need face to face, see and hear the emotions involved in the journey into recovery which AA provides from people who understand us.
I feel there are 2 major requirements needed to get and stay sober. #1 is to be honest with our self about our drinking, too many whitewash their honesty as I did in the beginning. Next we need to accept that we can no longer drink in safety. It’s that simple, not easy but very doable.
After a short period of not drinking we need to work on our drinking problem as it will always be there in the background waiting for us to become dishonest with our thinking process.
Alcohol is cunning, powerful, baffling and insidious so we need help battling it.
BE WELL
