60 days today
Pleased with my effort
Gp has prescribed SSRI's and I've called in sick at work - met with my manager to talk to him about the situation. Mentioned if been struggling with some anxiety over the last couple of weeks. He was really good and advised to take what time I needed to get back on track.
The challenge starts now though as being off work presents it's own set of difficulties, too much time, not much to do etc.
I'm envisaging at least a couple of weeks before the tablets start to help so I need to establish a bit if a plan.
I have to be firing on all cylinders when I return to work

Sixty days is great and it is wonderful that you have an understanding manager. I know how it feels to suddenly have all this free time to fill. A feeling of loose ends. I find it helps to have plans to fill the time. Mod something you need to get done around the house. I don't know if you attend AA but I always throw in a meeting or two. I meet up with friends for coffee. Make sure you eat right, sleep enough and generally take care of yourself. Post here for support and inspiration. Keep going!
60 days Stewy, yeeeessss, my friend
I'm glad you're pleased with your effort, because that is a great achievement.
Hopefully the meds will kick in sooner than you are anticipating.
So pleased for you Stewy, you're really doing great

You and I sound a lot alike...I'm about 68 days sober and having issues with anxiety big time. Usually it's in the morning; by time lunch comes around I'm ok, and that's when I take my Lexapro. Been on it a few weeks and it seems to be helping a bit.
I've also had some frank conversations with my manager and his manager and they've been very helpful and I think they will work with me.
I'm off for two weeks (pre-planned time off), so will be interesting to see how I keep my mind occupied without letting too much anxiety set in.

I'm going to have to be patient though, stopping drinking is just one aspect of the work I need to do on myself.
I'm going to need to learn to live in hope rather than fear and here's hoping the medication will give me the little boost I need at present.
