New member of recovery. Help me keep coming back :)

Hi, my name is Ryan, and I will have one month sober next weekend. I've been trying to immerse myself in recovery from recovery documentaries, to reading my NA book, to listening to AA speeches online. Any way that I can get involved in recovery will help me stay sober, I believe. I'm honored to be part of a new recovery community, and I hope that I can help many others that are struggling. I've definitely earned my place in this community. I've had several near death overdoses and have tried every drug in the book at one time or another. All of my hard times were worth it though, if I can help at least one other person recover. I'm currently going to school to become a probation officer, that way I can advocate recovery to those who need it most. I believe God put us through our struggles to strengthen us for battle so that we can help others. Please feel free to message me anytime. I will try to check this forum daily. Thanks for the support!

Hey Ryan. You found the best possible place for encouragement.

Great job on a month of sober living. Be proud of yourself for this huge accomplishment - some never see what they're doing to themselves. It'll continue to get even better.

A little voice deep inside me said, "Hello, I am here." It was a small voice, & sounded as if it were buried underneath the cushions of my couch. It was my soul...I had forgotten it.

Welcome to the family and congrats on a month sober.
