Colleague died at work today
I'm rattled: a colleague of mine died at work today. She works in a different building, so I'm not entirely sure what happened, but she is gone, and I can't believe it. She is in her late 30s-early 40s with a child less than a year old She was a lovely and good person.
Like I said, I'm unsure what happened, but maybe because of my new focus on sobriety, I'm left wondering if maybe she shared struggles similar to my own and I didn't know...

When death happens, I try to cope with it by having it remind me that life is valuable. Love and enjoy your own life to it's fullest, and let her passing remind you that your relationships are important and never to take them for granted.
I'm sorry for your loss Matilda. It's jarring and sad when someone from work dies unexpectedly. That has happened twice at my job. You can't speculate as to what happened. I'm sure at some point you will find out but in the meantime remember her for the person she was. And remember your life is precious. Be well.

Yes, I'm sure it is my own present state/self- involvement that is projecting in a speculative way onto her my own struggles. It is very sad. And her child...oh my heart aches for him.
Life is, indeed, very precious. The fact is we simply do not know how much time we have; a reminder that we should do our best with what we are given.
Feeling sober and reflective...
