Two years ago today....
Thanks for sharing! What a great reflection on what got you here...I'm sure 2 years ago seems like a lifetime ago now. More importantly, you seem to have a fantastic outlook on where you are going. Congratulations on a big 2-year anniversary!
Congratulations! So happy for you! You are three months ahead of me and I always looked to your posts and how you were handling things during your journey, especially during that first year. You provided strength and inspiration. Thank you for that and congrats again. xoxoxo

I think that's pretty cool that you made it back after relapsing from a long period of sobriety. It does show me to never give up. Very true...We must admit to ourselves that we don't drink like a regular social drinker, and this will never change. I will never be able to drink in moderation.
Hey soberclover- First, a BIG congrats!!!
I think your story should be 'pinned' for all to read. Especially for those, who for whatever reason, believe that they have miraculously evolved into that of a 'normal' drinker, through their own diligence with abstinence. Perhaps some feel as if they've 'earned' the right to try to be a normal drinker.
I wonder that myself sometimes. But after reading all of the stories of relapses, I know that it's only a fantasy and all of the wishful thinking won't change that- period!
I have said several times in the past, that when you're wired like most of us in here, there's just no compromises as far as maybe having a drink here and there. We're simply are unable to. I also feel if more people could come to terms with that early on, then far less people would have to deal with relapses. And I know that it's sometimes hard to actually comprehend a life without alcohol for many people (me included) and I know that it sucks, but it is what it is. It is what it has to be, for us.
Your post was spot on, and hopefully people will both read it and appreciate what you have gone through, and know they are really no different. That they too will travel the same path of relapses should they stray from their goals.
I wish you the best with your continued progress!
