Been here before.
I'm a salesman. And an alcoholic. I've tried but never been able to quit and now I am finally in the arms of a woman who loves me and I am living with her. I moved States to be with her and came out here with no set job and she still wanted me out here. She paid for everything and I repaid her by getting drunk and saying mean things to her. She still told me nothing about my Alcoholism. I got a job that is paying me incredibly well and with commission on top, sky's the limit. I celebrate by getting drunk and Acting like an ******* again. I am done. Now and forever. I hate what I have done to her and what I become when I drink. My body aches. My sides burn.. It takes three days just to feel sober after the brutal hangovers. I have had enough. So now, I'm here. I'm an alcoholic.

No plans yet. I'm here because AA scares the crap out of me and I'm not overly religious. I respect that aspect of it, but I don't feel comfortable with going along with it if I don't feel the same. Right now it's just me and my determination not to disappoint the woman I love and myself.
Oh great. Do we really need another alcoholic around here?
Damn skippy right we do!
Welcome. Congratulations on your decision to live a sober life.
There are alternatives to AA. You can find plenty of good information about those alternatives by reading around the various forums here.

Hi and welcome.
You are among people who understand the results of alcoholism, the solution is so simple but not always easy: Just don’t drink even if our A$$ falls off. It’s amazing how positive our life goes by that simple action. Stick around and read a bunch of posts for good ideas about how to do it.
Be aware it’s long term work requiring change but many have accomplished it with great end results.
