Thanks for posting that, Wolf, yes, I am still scared of the doctors, but maybe after a few months...good to hear it gets easier.

Hope your issues get sorted out, my friend.

Thank you for sharing Soberwolf, and congrats on the 16 months! Going to the doctor continues to be very scary for me. I think it's the fear of the unknown, the "what if something is really terribly wrong", rather than fear of judgement (at least for me). I try to be brave by telling myself that it is always better to know than not know. Dealing with life instead of running from it... what a scary concept.

SW,
I hear you loud and clear. When I was still hitting it hard every visit to my Doctor was an ass chewing. Every time I saw him socially he would give me the stink eye. Now that I'm sober we compare exercise programs.

Thank you Soberwolf.
I always stress out about my Doctor appointments. You've given me something to think about, and I think my next visit will be less stressful.

P.S. With close to 29 years now, I found that the most important things for me were (1) competent and well trained medical help, (2) support from other persons in recovery, (3) exercise, (4) dogs! (5) time honored maxims (e.g. try to forget the past, don't try to change stuff you can't change, (3) understand and forgive others and yourself, (4) help others in recovery, (5) don't isolate-humans are social creatures- seek companionship, (6) moderation in all things, except for sobriety! (7 ) never give up.Climb the mountain of recovery whatever it takes, (8) know your true self, believe in it, foster it, grow with it,

Bill
