Peak Craving Times
So I find my danger times are around 10-12 in the morning. It doesnt really matter what day, however tensions heighten on the weekends.
I rarely feel cravings evening/nights.
I have no idea why this is the case.
What are your danger times?
Tell me your stories.

Day 18
Used to be right after work until about 9 pm. If I could make it through that period I probably wouldn't drink that day.
I am past the point of being alert to that, though. I no longer have danger times. Keep it going and you will know what I mean!

Hi.
The feeling we want to drink is usually called obsession to drink and the feeling we get after having a drink is usually called the compulsion to continue to drink.
For whatever reason far too many alcoholics have relapses because the obsession is sucking them back to drink because they are thinking sometimes about escaping situations and other reasons by drinking. It can hit us at any time even when things are going good.
When I was in that mode I concentrated on thinking about non drinking thoughts.

During the work week it generally started around two....and to address that I started drinking a big protein shake at three o'clock and that helped me get home without stopping for beer. The workweek cravings have pretty much faded away. The weekends are toughest on Sunday late afternoon. I try to stay especially busy during that time and eat plenty. I often go to bed pretty early too. Now at about six weeks sober, Sundays have gotten better too. Best of luck with everything!

Right when it hits 7pm, that's when my cravings start because that is when I usually start drinking. If I can make it past 9pm, then my cravings subside. I always drank after my daughter went to bed, never during the day time.
My danger time used to be around supper time. That seems to have passed. Activities tend to trigger me more. I have gotten over drinking while watching the football games. Doing work around the house was always done with a drink in my hand. For instance yard work, remodeling etc...This weekend I painted my living room, dining room and hallways without a drink but felt a twinge to have one. Instead, I had a latte.
I've posted about this a lot. My "danger zone" is between 4 and 8 p.m., strongest between 5 and 6. Sometimes it starts earlier on the weekends, or if I have an especially stressful event that I would normally use alcohol to manage. But I think I've ingrained the 5-6 start time over the most amount of years, if that makes any sense, so it's the strongest.
