Feeling withdrawal/discomfort

Glad I am not drinking, but the withdrawal is uncomfortable. Just needed to vent.

What is making you uncomfortable? Physical or mental?

I am not sure if it is physical or psychological. It feels like denying yourself a cigarette, when you want one badly. Like a dental pain, its all I can think about.

I feel pretty much the way you just described right now, I think. It is in face hard to tell whether it's physical or psychological, but it is definitely preoccupying and awful. I can't focus on anything else.

I'm thinking of watching a movie? If you figure out how to assuage it let me know :p

I feel some tightness/discomfort in chest area. I will be OK - just going to sleep it off soon.

helpimalive, i agree with the preoccupied thoughts. a movie sounds like a good idea - i think the main thing is just finding a positive distraction.

Hang in there, get some rest. I really hope you feel better soon. It's an awful feeling.

I had the chest tightness too. Seems to come and go for me. For me, it's worse at night and better in the day. Makes it hard to sleep. A deep tissue massage seemed to help me - dunno why.

Enjoy some good music, might just break the funk. Sweet dreams and sleep well.

On day three here. Also been having some of the chest tightness. Almost like all of my nervous tension is centered right in the middle of my chest. It's still slightly going on now though keeps lessening little by little. But it was AWFUL on day one. I just blamed it on the drinking I'd done the night before--not just the wine but for some reason I drank four Red Bulls in like four hours, something I normally don't ever drink.

Anyways, guess I'm just saying you're not alone. I'm about to go to bed myself.

All, it sounds like you may be experiencing anxiety due to the withdrawl. I get that too (feeling it now), and that is one of the main reasons that I drank.

It goes away as your body adjusts...

There is an anxiety subforum here if you want to check it out.
