I'm 55 but got sober when I was 22. So, yeah it's possible to be young and sober.

Hi guys, 25 yr old here. I have probably had a drinking issue for several years now but just not been completely aware of it. I don't think I am an alcoholic per se but I'm at a point in my life where I have become sensitive to the effects of alcohol : hangovers, anxiety, negative emotions caused by drinking not too mention overall physical health.

Anyway, it is tough in terms of social life I think. It's like in some ways were are just wiser and more mature then most of the people around us, and most people at my age are just not totally aware of their own drinking habits to notice it's negative effect I think.

But yeah I tend to get to the weekend and of course, going out in the evening with friends to bars, pubs and clubs just does not seem fun anymore without alcohol.

I find going for dinner with a friend is a good way to meet, watching a sports event together, play some pool or something.I find socialising when sober is less frequent but the quality of interaction seems to be better as you can communicate and have more interesting conversations with your friends..
