My Annual Thread
This is lovely. I am reading all these first thing in the morning. What a great start to the day.
I can't really go around in real life telling people,
"I am 4 years sober!"
But, it is such a huge deal for us.
I told my sister, and she called me immediately.
She and her husband had been at an event and everyone was drinking.
Then, the next day, all hungover and full of "the fear".
Puffy faces, sick to their stomachs, trying to deal with children, jobs, etc.
She just thought, "what must it feel like to do this every day, while hating every minute of it?"
Not good.
At the moment, I am feeling like that about smoking.
I want to come on here in a year or so and declare myself 'EX-Smoker".
I admire people who do both together.
I kind of wish I would have done both together, but I doubt I could have.
I do find nicotine gum helpful.
It is such a nasty addiction. I smoke for my "nerves", but constant nicotine withdrawal and wondering when I can have a ciggy causes loads of anxiety. (sound familiar?)
Thanks so much again to all the members that have walked with me.
A very big shout-out to the Moderators.
They are incredible.
