Day 10 - agitated!!
Day 10 - agitated!!
So this is my 10th day without the booze. It's not too bad, but I am feeling more than a little agitated today. It doesn't help that I have given up smoking as well, I know it seems a lot but I had planned to stop smoking long before I decided to pack up the drinking for good. My other half has got an unexpected week off work and that doesn't help, he usually works awayand I thought being drink and smoke free would be easier without him around, as he does both, but that was not to be. so here I am puffing on my electronic cigarette like there is no tomorrow, wishing the week away!

Is there an activity you can throw yourself into? Even reading a good book or doing household chores with sudden new zest out of desperation?
Keeping busy in the face of distraction was always very good for me.

I have faltered on ten days many many times and the fact we don't have the comfort of cigarettes either can make it more hard
perhaps we can help each other ?

Marina, stay strong! Great job on day 10 (and hopefully 11 today)
We have the same Start Date which is awesome
Not sure if this was brought up in another thread, but if it's difficult for you to be at home with your spouse while he smokes & drinks, and he knows you're trying to quit... Did you consider asking him to curtail those habits, at least in your presence, or at least temporarily? I would hope he would be open to supporting you while you try to quit one or the other, especially both. Anyway, you're doing great, pulling for you here....
