Feeling so yuck!
Happy Saturday afternoon all you sober people.
I'm just venting I guess, completely sober, I think it's day 11 for me and I'm feeling so darn blah. I'm not really even wanting the drink, so it's not all that.
I finally went on an antidepressant, been on it for about 10 days and I think I'm getting every crappy side effect and nothing good out of it.
It always seems like I try so hard to help myself and it never works out, something always has to get in the way. I don't even like the Dr. so to go back to her will make me feel even worse (my visit to her made me feel worse). It almost seems like I'd feel better minus the alcohol AND the anti!! I guess I had high hopes of this pill helping my mood a bit, but I'm still in a dark place.

Hats off to you for getting to day 11!
I'm on day one - already on/off anti-depressants for lots of reasons. I can never stick them very long as they make me feel worse. I'm going to try staying sober without them... see how I get on.
Don't beat yourself up. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I lasted over a week sober.
Be proud of yourself... and go to see another doctor and explain about the side effects.
Best wishes,
SHR

Any chance of a different dr?
The whole dr/patient thing is very important.
If you're feeling worse after this long on the AD it might be time to ask about discontinuing. This is why it's important to feel comfortable with your dr.
Also, ad's and mood stabilizers are 2 different types of drugs. Taking one when you need the other can have bad results.
Good luck, keep plowing ahead.

I want to see another Dr. but what the heck do I say? I didn't like my last Dr. so I'm switching? Who would want me then? I've only seen her once but she's so cold and abrupt, she made me feel like I was being petty and whiney, not what I need right now.
I'd see a shrink, but I'm So done talking to a wall.
Thanks for the responses, I do appreciate it.

Yes, you could say that your last dr didn't seem like a good fit for you. That's all you would need to say.
And, sometimes it takes numerous tries to get an antidepressant that works well for you and has no side effects. Don't give up on that option without talking to a dr about it.
You're doing great and it's hard to keep pushing ahead when you're feeling down, but I hope you keep at it.
