Day 7!!!
Well, I've hit day 7 without a drink, which I'm really pleased about. I'd like to say it was easy, but it hasn't been. Especially those times when there's nothing to do and you're trying, and failing, to keep yourself busy. I've found that I'm already starting to lose weight (about 5-6 lbs so far) and my sleep has improved dramatically. I can't say I haven't considered having a drink, as I still miss something cold after a day at work but I'm happy to stick with diet Coke for now. No withdrawal symptoms, thankfully, and I find I'm not waking up in a sweat in the morning. Also no need for any medical interventions or medication :-).
So, it can be done and the 1st week is normally the hardest. Maintenance is another hurdle but that's always going to be the case.
Oh, and I found it easy to measure sober time on hours for the initial week. It makes you feel like you're getting further!
