seeking info regarding suboxone
hello I am needing some info about suboxone...I use to take oxycodone 10/325 anywhere from 4 a day to 14 a day if I was lucky...last year I went on suboxone 8mg/2mg films a day...my current dr has stopped seeing patients...my question is basic...will I go thru withdrawals? Any advice is welcome...I just don't want to go back to how I was a year ago.I also don't want to go on methadone...Thank you&God bless!!!
Hi jolay
while our memebers can can share their experiences with you we can't give you medical advice here, by our rules.
Personally, I have no experience with suboxone at all.
You didn't get a referral to a new Dr from your current one?

In my experience with subs if you quit at the amount you are taking then yes you will go through wds. I jumped off at 2mg day and the pain of wds were terrible. You should be able to find a new subs doctor. If you can't find one yourself ask your doctor or your insurance company.
Remember that wds are very different from person to person though. I would guess though that after a year of use your body is dependent. .. mine was after only a few weeks... subs can be tapered and quit but jumping off cold turkey is similar for many to jumping off the other opiates. What did your doctor tell you to do?
