I relapsed today. Something happened at work that really irked and hurt me, so on my break, I had some lunch and a couple drinks. I was still irked by the end of my shift, so I stopped at a bar on my way home and had a couple more. I don't feel good about it, but I'm not kicking myself too hard for it because I know it happens. Prior to today, my last drink was on Monday night. Is this okay/normal?
Well, if you want to stop drinking, then it's best to find healthy ways to deal with problems at work.
Relapsing is hard on your body, mind and spirit. I hope you can stay focused on your recovery.

Yeah noone wants you to beat yourself up but I think you need to bring it up a notch from 'it happens', y'know?
It doesn't *need* to happen.
I still get irked but I worked out how to deal with it in healthy ways.
Think about what else you could have done and you'll pull the good from this

When you drink because something annoys you, you aren't learning how to cope without alcohol. Alcohol is like a band-aid that keeps falling off, you never really heal and it never really helps.
Now I'm like, omg, I have to actually deal with things? How do I do that? I'm learning too.
I've had to push passed a few uncomfortable times as I am re-learning new coping skills. It's hard but it's getting easier. Push through some of these times you are tested and you will start to rewire your ability to deal with things that irk you.

Go at it again and you'll get there, though there are always going to be bad days at work, the plan can't be to have a drink everytime there is one, you need to find an alternative to dealing with the stress and incorporate that into your plan moving forward!!
You can do this!!
You can do this!!
You have not really relapsed from stopping since Monday. You merely took a 3 day break from drinking. This is "normal" for drinkers. Continue to keep the prize in your head though and you will gain traction once you make a commitment and become a non-drinker.
