Angry I SO dislike insomnia :(. Day 2 for me though

Ive had chamomile tea, valerian, and then some melatonin. Usually, just one of those knocks me out. Nothing nada. Im exhausted, but when I lie down my body just wants to jump about. Made a pot of tea, might mop the kitchen floor and organize some kitchen cupboards. I don't feel like anymore journaling....I don't have much more to say and im just freakin' frustrated!

But its 10 past midnight here, so Im on day two.

I think insomnia is the price we pay...I certainly did for the first few nights.

If you can;t sleep at least try to relax, keep the room dark and just lie there and focus on your breathing...make it deeper if you can from the diaphragm, not the chest.

You still may not sleep but you might feel a little more rested.

Give it a few days for normal sleeping patterns to resume

I have trouble sleeping, too. I have valerian and melatonin, but like you have found them to be unreliable. Benadryl used to work pretty well for me, but I get restless legs at night when I take it now, so I have stopped using benadryl. I do what you already suggested. Instead of tossing and turning, I get up and clean something. One night I just stayed up all night and got through the next day with coffee feeling relatively okay, but I do not have a job outside the house I have to go to. Just hang in there, it'll pass eventually.

New Atavar Dee? You are so cool.
Anyway, Windancer, I would add, try to relax your entire body. Focus on your eyes, then nose, mouth and work your way to your toes. Keep your eyes closed. Breathe in and out.
Don't stop and don't give up. At least it might distract you from the insomnia?
Wishing you zzzz's

Thanks everyone. Yes, it is the price I must pay. I know it will pass sometime. My poor body needs time to heal and adjust.
