Alright, I had a couple of days of recovery time and screwed up. I went to a blues jam and decided to drink. However, I am now on day three of sobriety, and one of the only reasons I didn't go to the liquor store on my way home, was because of this site and the people on it. I didn't want to be a disappointment to myself or to any of you. So, thank you all!
Just for today I will not pick up. I will save my money, and wake up relieved tomorrow that I did so. Just for today!

DITS, could you come to the agreement to not drink while working? And agree that anytime you're in clubs/bars it's like being at work? And then also agree to not drink at all? Ever? For any reason? no exceptions?
I'm around liquor quite a lot for my work. I don't drink. I sometimes have to socialize for my work around drinking. I don't drink.
you might look into AVRT for an excellent technique to not drink.

Dragon I started to make my ascent into sobriety at the beginning of May. I put a week together...relapsed...put 9 days together...relapsed...put 3 weeks together...relapsed. After the last one, I realized I wanted sobriety more than anything. I really and truly wanted it. I'm closing in on a month and my sobriety feels so much more stable.
Quit drinking on the job : ) It was only a few nights ago that I grew incredibly depressed after an AA meeting cause old memories of my "music business" days came back like a major motion picture in my head. I was so horribly ashamed at the drinking I did where I should have been professional. I'm wincing now even as I type this.

Welcome back Dragon
Like I told you I was a musician too - I had to walk away because I could not resist that atmosphere.
I'm not going to argue with you - if walking away is not an option for you, you're going to have to be really tough.
You may well have to look at real life support besides SR.
And remember it's the first drink that does the damage, not the last....

I have to take it day by day. If I tell myself I am never going to drink again it makes me feel overwhelmed and powerless. I will try my hardest not to drink, but I've got to do it one moment at a time.
