Daughter Update
It looks like my daughter is in the final stage of her battle with cancer. The prognosis is a couple of weeks. Although I certainly appreciate all the good wishes this post is about sobriety and how I have made it thus far.
Believing God's plan is more vast then my mind can conceive
The time to have a support network established is before you need it
Live a day at a time in all things
Surrender to things out of your control
Have gratitude for the things you do have
It is OK to feel like crap
Reach out and ask for help
Take care of yourself and enjoy the things you can
Super charge your program of recovery
Never isolating
Do all of these things no mater how much you don't want to do them
It is not easy but it is possible

Although this is tragic, your daughter has a sober Father, who can hug and tell her all he needs to say to comfort her during this time. It is a small but critical blessing in all of this.
Staying sober was the thing that kept me sane when nursing a loved one through the same thing earlier this year. To be there when she passed and to be sober and present for it was so important.
I know you can do this too MI - you have to, for your daughter.xx

Oh, MIR, words are simply inadequate. The loss of a child is something no parent should have to endure.
Thank you for having the courage and insight to provide perspective and guidance through your words to us.
You, your daughter, and your family, are in my thoughts and prayers.

My best wishes to you and your daughter. I am I awe of your strength and resolve to be sober during this time as well. Your example is one that many can learn from and it's more helpful than you can fathom. Peace.
